The Forbidden Fruit
Innocence is being unaware of what is bad, what is evil, what is toxic. Innocence is when a child can't grasp the notion that something will hurt, because they haven't been hurt before. Innocence is believing in good and having faith in the world. Innocence is having curiosity, and acting upon it. And innocence was what came so naturally to Adam and Eve when they tasted the forbidden fruit, when they believed that nothing wrong could come from it. Until they knew. Until they lost it.
